Jill Rhinehart joined Groce UMC as pastor on July 1, 2023. She was born in Asheville and raised in Kings Mtn, NC. She received a BS from NC State University and a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC. Jill graduated Magna Cum Laudi. She started in ministry with the United Methodist Church in 2003 and became an Ordained Elder in 2010 with the Western NC Conference.

Joel Matthews is a native of Atlanta, GA where he studied Pipe Organ at Emory University. In addition to his private teaching practice, he was also Director of Education at large Hammond Organ, Yamaha, and Steinway dealers. Joel has served in several denominations as Music/Choir Director/Organist and has played for many special occasions with Organist, Bill Irwin, and the renowned Bob Ralston of the Lawrence Welk Show. He joined the Groce family in April of 2023.

Veronica Bagwell is an Asheville native, raised right here at Groce. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Asheville (UNCA) in 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. Not only does she work in our front office, but she helps run the Livestream on Sunday mornings.

Tammy Peek is the church’s Custodian. She is a native of Asheville and attended Blue Ridge Tech for Interior Design. She owns her own cleaning business called Tammy’s Touch.
